Subdocument of Final Website Project - Webbutveckling 1

Project Plan:

What & Why:

Goal:

Make a “bookmark” site with a collection of helpful links and resources organized in a logical and intuitively navigable way on Desktop, Mobile and tablets with full responsivity and on large TVs with passable responsivity.

Target User Group:

Anyone who wants to access the resources should be able to. the resources are mainly for digital, computer based things therefore a basic ability to navigate the web is expected. Accessibility needs to be accounted for. E.g. option to toggle background color to pure black or gray.

Inspiration:

The design style is inspired by a previous website about responsivity where I ended up with a similar design.

Motivation:

I have a lot of links saved on discord that I frequently have to look though to find the right one I’m searching for which can get a bit tedious, especially when I want to send links to other people. With this website not only does searching for links get easier, but I can just link the website to people. And I of course learn more about making websites.

How:

What’s used:

  • VS code
  • GitHub
  • HTML
  • CSS
  • JS

Design:

Modern Extreme Darkmode

  • Black Default BG
  • White Text
  • Gradients:
    • Hue shift
    • Lightness shift
    • Saturation cost (high)
    • Turquoise - Deep Blue
  • Fonts:
    • Inter - Main Font - Very Well made and the modern style I want (recently added support for more alphabets but not perfect yet)
    • Noto Sans Japanese Backup Font - Supports Cyrillic and full Japanese (Hiragana, Katakana, Kanji), similar style to Main font
  • No Navbar (navigation is still good and it feels more simple and modern/innovative)

Limitations:

Complex JS is outside the scope of this, therefore things like search are not an option.

Knowledge

I need more knowledge on:

  • Basic Masonry grid
  • Simple JS
  • How users take in information (psychology and such)

Time:

Due to increased unpredictable variations in motivation from ADHD, the most effective time management is unplanned which isn’t just unfortunate but also means there is no point in making any precise time planning. The project was already started before it became a school project so planning was never done in advance and never on paper. Testing is done in tandem with coding with more focus on it towards the end. TLDR: Cant plan on micro or macro scale so planning is just: now-deadline: make website.
